Activity 2 - Creating the Video

Activity 2 - Let's Make the Video...

Below is each step you will need to go through to finish your teams video:
  1. Audio Record your sentence as a narration.
  2. Create a photo, still, video or animation to describe your narration.
  3. Record a sound fx that will compliment your image, video or animation.
  4. Edit your image and sounds together
  5. Edit the groups work into a single movie file.

REMEMBER: Be  CREATIVE! Use images and sounds that provoke emotions! The sounds and visuals you choose do not need to relate to each other directly, but compliment each other and the emotion your are portraying! HAVE FUN!

1. Audio Record your Narration

Record your narration in a quiet place with no distractions. Read with passion and expression related to your emotion. Use a microphone and your computers audio recorder. MAKE YOUR VOICE BRILLIANT!

Instructions for Quicktime users are shown in the video to the right.

 2. Create a photo, still, video or animation to describe your narration.

You can use a photograph, a video or an animation to show visually the emotion and sense you have described. You can be as creative as you want here. Choose a subject matter that really goes with what you are saying. I painted both the black on the toast and the mould on the strawberry frame by frame for my film. You can even draw your own!!!
 USE AMAZING IMAGERY!

3. Record a sound fx that will compliment your image, video or animation.

This is the really fun bit! Think of some sound fx that you can record that go with the images you have created. Make sounds by scraping different objects over surfaces, shuffling papers, opening and closing doors etc. Some of these sounds may be perfect for your film even if they are not the exact sounds the object of the film will make. (Do you have a pet that purrs?)
Listen to the following sounds... What are they? But more importantly: What could they be used for? MAKE ANY SOUNDS WORK!

4. Edit Your Video, Sound Fx and Narration Together ....

Here is a short reminder video of basic editing in iMovie (4m30s). You are free to add transitions and fx if you feel confident to do so. CONTACT ME AT ANY STAGE FOR ANY SUPPORT!
